Celanese Ventures started up automated production of membrane electrode assemblies for polymer
electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells at its new pilot plant in September. With the pilot plant
up and running, Celanese Ventures has created the necessary conditions for the use of its product
in the serial production of fuel cells. Motorola, a leading developer of microapplications, is one of
Celanese’s most important partners for the Celanese fuel cell business.
